In this economic climate, there’s a lot of people in the job market.  Though the jobs are limited and competitive, here are some suggestions on where to find your next freelance job:

1. Craigslist Craigslist is a centralized network of online communities, featuring free online classified advertisements – with sections devoted to jobs, housing, personals, for sale, services, community, gigs, résumés, and discussion forums.

2. Career Builder – With 1.6 million Jobs on CareerBuilder.com, you can find new employment or work.  Fresh job listings are posted daily, and you can have jobs emailed to you.

3. Monster - Find the job that’s right for you. Use Monster’s resources to create a killer resume, search for jobs, prepare for interviews, and launch your career.

4. Yahoo HotJobs – Find your dream job! Search for jobs, post your resume, compare salaries and find career advice and research. Thousands of new jobs listed daily.

5. Your local newspaper – You can check out local job postings in the classifieds section.

6. College bulletin boards – For newly grads, or those who are still in school – a number of alumni students post job opportunities in their alma mater.

7. Your network - Let your family, friends, and ex-colleagues know that you are job-hunting.  Word of mouth is the best.

8. Jobs DB / Jobstreet - You can expand your horizons by looking for job openings abroad, such as these sites based mainly in Asia.  There are also job sites for Europe, South America, Australia, Russia, Africa.  Where do you want to work?

9. Department of Labor career centers - when you file for unemployment benefits, they would normally send you a letter to assist in your job search.  There should be a career center in your area.
